Pastors Willie G. Swinney, Sr., D. D. and Dr. Betty J. Swinney, Assistant Pastor, accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior during the mid-1970s. Later, they were called into the ministry as Pastor and Assistant Pastor and founders of Outreach Christian Center (OCC).

In 1982, they obeyed the Lord and started a church that began with three people. Outreach has experienced steady and rapid growth throughout its history. OCC is a family-oriented church with a broad membership base, ranging from infants to truly seasoned saints. Our membership composition reflects a heavenly vision of diversity: a place where "Everybody is Somebody" and serving God is the number one priority; a place where we are bound together in peace and harmony by the omnipotent LOVE of GOD.

The goal of OCC is to reach the lost with the Gospel message of the Lord Jesus Christ and then to meet the needs of the whole man: spiritually, mentally, socially and physically. This has given rise to many ministries and auxiliaries which function in various ways to reach this goal as they minister to those both inside and outside the church. We believe in and teach without compromise the true Word of God as revealed in the Holy Bible.

We believe in giving God the praise, thanksgiving and worship due to his Holy Name.  We believe in the power of prayer, speaking in tongues, and divine healing. The evidence of this all is summed up in the Scriptures when it says, "Happy are the people whose God is the Lord"! OCC has many ministries in operation, which caters to all ages, providing an alternative to secular means of so-called enjoyment.

Pastor Willie G. Swinney, D.D. passed away January 20, 2020 and is now truly worshipping with the angels!
